Songfacts®:

  • Music Go Music are an indie pop group from Los Angeles, consisting of vocalist Gala Bell, keyboardist Kamer Maza and bassist Torg. Their music is inspired by '70s and '80s bands such as ABBA and Electric Light Orchestra and has been labeled "hippy disco."
  • This is a single taken from Music Go Music's debut album Expressions, and is the trio's best known track to date. According to publicity materials, "Light of Love is a true celebration of pop music's potential - laying a thin sheen of magic over the world around it, and making the tedious bits of the human experience a little less so." Such a blurb can get a tad over excited.
  • Recording of the album began at guitarist Torg's house but they were forced to move after neighbours complained about the noise. The trio's manager Paul Everett told the NME January 9 2010: "Basically, they stripped their houses down and turned them into studios. The album still sounds like it was recorded in a super flash studio somewhere in Hollywood but the fact they weren't paying hundreds of dollars a day for studio time allowed them to be free from all the pressure. And thank God for that."
  • In some places on the album you can hear Gala Bell and Kamar Maza's dogs' collars jingling as they run through the studio.
