Songfacts®:

  • This Salaam Remi produced track is about a late-night street encounter in Queens during the '90s. Nas tells us of such real-life gangsters as Colbert "Black Just" Johnson, E Moneybags and Stretch Walker who met their maker in Nas' neck of the woods. The Queens rapper goes on to celebrate the perseverance and achievements of the survivors who are still around. Remi and Nas had had the idea for this track for several years before finally cutting the tune.
