Songfacts®:

  • This Life is Good track finds Nas dissing those who brag about killing, when in actuality they are really only "accident murderers." He also criticizes those killers whose senseless murders result in innocent bystanders losing their lives. Rick Ross joins Nas on the cut. However, the Bawse's typically braggadocio verse seems to us to have little relevance to the Queens MC's tales of accidental killings.
  • This is not the first time Nas and Ross have linked up. Previous collaborations include the Bawse's "Usual Suspects" and "Triple Beam Dreams" plus Nas's "It's A Tower Heist."
  • Salaam Remi and No I.D. provided the piano and organ-based beat. Nas has history with both producers; Remi manned the boards on the two hit singles from the Nasty one's 2003 God's Son album, "Made You Look" and "I Can," whilst the Queens spitter jumped on the No I.D.-produced cut "Ghetto Dreams" off Common's The Dreamer, The Believer set. "I needed producers that's gonna be there and get into what I want to get into, have the conversation and start making the records based off of what I'm looking for," Nas told MTV News.
