Songfacts®:

  • Neon Jungle are a British four-piece girl group consisting of Amira McCarthy, Asami Zdrenka, Jess Plummer, and Shereen Cutkelvin. This EDM pop tune is their debut single, which was released September 1, 2013.
  • The song was developed by Neon Jungle with English singer-songwriter Anita "Cocknbullkid" Blay. The intention was to showcase the band's fun and youthful side. "Everyone says it's really catchy, that you can't get it out of your head, so that's always a good thing," Neon Jungle told Fuse TV. It is a good introductory [song for us]: It's catchy, it gets in your head. It's two and a half minutes long so it doesn't drag out too much. It's just fun."

Following a number of low profile releases, Cocknbullkid signed to Moshi Moshi through Island Records in 2009. She released several much acclaimed records that failed to trouble the charts, but achieved her first hit production with this song.
  • Amira told Digital Spy how they came up with their Neon Jungle name. She explained: "We've got a song called 'Welcome To The Jungle' and we wanted something that could represent what we are. We're all individual and quite different, which is why we decided on Neon. We tried to put lots of different words with it, but they weren't working. Eventually we decided on Neon Jungle."
