Songfacts®:

  • The Neon Trees are a Utah based Indie Rock quartet. After forming they upped sticks to a house in the Californian desert and embarked on an intensive nine-month stint of writing, rehearsing and recording. The period brought about a series of tough challenges and at one point each band member had some sort of breakdown. Lead vocalist Tyler Glenn explained to English newspaper The Sun: "We were all doing things that we shouldn't - things that we had long given up, whether it would be drugs or other things. I wrote 'Sins Of My Youth' about that year."
