Songfacts®:

  • Newworldson is a Canadian Christian pop/soul band. The group was formed in a Ontario jazz bar and self- released its debut album Roots Revolution in 2006. This single was taken from Newworldson's self-titled sophomore major label album, which was released on February 9, 2010. It rose to #1 on the Canadian Christian Radio Charts, the group's first chart-topper.
  • The song, which features the Toronto Mass Choir, has a message of encouragement to those who are carrying a heavy burden. Newworldson frontman Joel Parisien explained: "We all have someone in our lives who is trying to carry the weight of the world on their shoulders - the purpose behind this song is to shine a light in the dark, lyrically extending a hand to that someone just waiting to lay their burden down."
