Songfacts®:

  • After a decade fronting Aussie rock band Jet, Nic Cester released his first solo record, Sugar Rush. This track is the album's lead single. He told The Sun the story behind the song.

"That song is meant to be carefree and fun. The lyrics that appear on the album are the initial words that I wrote without really any thought. I tried to rewrite it time and time again but I got addicted to the diction and the phrasing, so I said, do you know what? I'm going to keep these lyrics. They are not particularly deep or profound, but they do speak in a carefree way about my life at that point where me and my wife just packed up and traveled around the Middle East for a few months."
