  • Lachey wrote this about his divorce from Jessica Simpson. They had a very high-profile marriage that was the subject of an MTV reality show called Newlyweds, and were constantly in the tabloids before and after their marriage ended.
  • Lachey: "People will listen to it and draw their own conclusions, and I can only speculate on what those may be, but it's not about looking back. It's about making the best of what's there and moving on."
  • Vanessa Minnillo, who is a former Miss Teen USA and an MTV VJ, portrays Jessica Simpson in the video, although she appears as a brunette so as not to be imitating Simpson. In the video, items around the house start to disappear until Lachey is left standing in an empty house. >>>

  • Michael H. from Madison, WiI really like this song. Like what Nick went through a difficult relationship with his ex-wife Jessica, which caused to get divorced, I was going through remorse for not treating my ex-friend with respect. If I could have watched what I doing, including not spreading rumors or gossiping about what we did to others, I would not have made this person broke my trust with me.
  • Chelsea from ArizonaIt's ironic because now him and Vanessa are married in real life and have two kids but good for them!
  • Tricia from Rockville Centre, NyThis song ....played out an incident I had recently with an ex that was back and forth and the was preaching and preaching he dont have others...meanwhile I found him meeting someone for a date..and the line "Watched my life pass me by in the rearview mirror" I bet that is how he felt while I was pulling away in my car...so ironic... I hope he feels a shread of guilt cause its true...you dont know what you got till its gone...I agree with Georgina!
  • Jennifer Harris from Grand Blanc, MiI never saw the video. This song reminds me of my ex-fiancee,Trent Edgin. It was playing on the radio at his apt when we were together.Don ,my fiancee says it can be our song.
  • Kayla from Cumberland, Rinick Lachey is hot
  • Mark from Byrdstown, TnGod what a freaking waste of space this entry is.A great songwriter? Wow the bar is certainly low on what the kids these days call 'great'.
  • Georgina from Laredo, TxIf i were jessica the jaws of life could not take nick away from....dont know what you got till its gone
  • Esther from Sauwerd, NetherlandsAnd Vanessa, who's indeed playing Jessica, is now Nick's new girlfriend. =)
  • Hope from Florence, MtI love Nick Lachey! He is a great songwriter (as is Jason Wade the lead singer of Lifehouse). I really like this song and his older song "This I Swear." Now that is a cute love song.
