Songfacts®:

  • Minaj paints a picture of her New York hood here, channeling the flow of Brooklyn's own Notorious B.I.G . She references Rucker Park, a basketball court in the Harlem neighborhood and the Bruckner Expressway, which cuts through the Bronx.
  • The beat was supplied by Parker Ighile, who in late 2012 became the first artist signed to Minaj's.record label and also featured on the hook of the Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded track "Hell Yeah." The British producer and songwriter started his professional music career, at the age of 18 producing Chipmunk's song "Oopsy Daisy," which reached #1in the UK Charts. He subsequently contributed to hit tunes by the likes of Jessie J ("Do It Like A Dude") and Rihanna ("What Now").
  • When Minaj was asked to describe "four door aventador" in one word during a Twitter Q&A she replied "mixtape," a reference to the song being a return to her early sound.
  • The song title does not appear in the lyrics. Minaj describes the vehicle she's cruising the hood in as "funky four door, no floor."

The Lamborghini Aventador is a mid-engined sports car that was launched on February 28, 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show. We're curious where Nicki got her her 4-door Aventador from as at the time of Pinkprint's release the only models on the market were a 2-door coupé and 2-door roadster.
