Songfacts®:

  • This Boi-1da and T-Minus produced cut finds Minaj trading bars with her YMCMB boss, Lil Wayne. We hear Nicki delivering sexual braggadocio lines, in which she lets the world know that "this ain't high school." Weezy then spits his typically playfully bawdy rhymes.
  • The Benny Boom-directed clip has almost nothing to do with the actual song but instead tells the tale of Minaj's drug lord's girlfriend who plots to steal Weezy's character's jewels until they wind up falling for each other.
In one scene the pair are embroiled in hot sweaty sex, but Minaj admitted to MTV News that it was easier for her to get into character, than it was for Weezy. "He refused to touch me, he's so respectful, he refused to touch me, and then I was like, 'Wayne,' I was like, 'You could do this.' But he was acting scared, like, 'Yo, Nick, this is my dream. I'm gonna be a man after this video.' He was just being crazy," she said. "But if I didn't tell him 'Yes, you can do this' or 'touch this,' he refused to do it, like he's a southern gentlemen, which people don't realize."
  • Shortly after shooting the video Minaj found out Wayne had suffered a serious seizure. "It was interesting, because I felt so guilty when I shot the video with Wayne because the next day was when he had the seizure," she explained to Australian radio show hosts Kyle and Jackie O. "'When we were wrapping up the video I thought that he was looking really, really tired and I just kept on saying to the director, 'Come on, hurry up! I don't want Wayne to get tired!'. I knew that he was very, very drained. I could tell that he was in a place where he needed some rest."
