Album: Bad Boys For Life The Soundtrack (2020)
Play Video

Songfacts®:

  • "Muévelo" was recorded for the final installment in the Bad Boys trilogy, Bad Boys for Life, which stars for the third time Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. The two actors aren't the only duo the Bad Boys sequel brought back together: In the late '90s and early '00s, Nicky Jam and Daddy Yankee were the reggaetón duo Los Cangris, which released several successful singles in Puerto Rico before breaking up. The pair appeared together a handful of times in the 2010s, but audiences had to wait two decades for a proper new collaboration. This upbeat single recorded for the Bad Boys for Life soundtrack marks their official reunion.
  • The song features an interpolation of a fragment of Ini Kamoze's 1994 reggae classic "Here Comes The Hotstepper."
  • "Muévelo" (meaning "Move It") was produced by Play N Skillz, who are Dallas, Texas brothers Juan "Play" and Oscar "Skillz" Salinas. Their other credits include Chamillionaire's "Ridin" and Lil Wayne's "Got Money."
  • Nicky Jam is also part of Bad Boys for Life cast, playing one of the movie's villains.
