Songfacts®:

  • For those of you not au fait with the late twentieth century boy band scene, NKOTBSB is an acronym for two of leading boy bands of that period, New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys. The two groups got together in 2011 to release an album, NKOTBSB and hit the road for a joint tour.
  • Produced by Eman and written by Claude Kelly, "Lights" is about rekindling a romance that's begun to fizzle. The song was originally premiered by Brian Littrell and AJ McLean during a Backstreet Boys cruise in December 2010 before being chosen as the lead single for NKOTBSB.
