Songfacts®:

  • A number of the tracks on The Fall were inspired by the ending of Jones' relationship with boyfriend-bassist Lee Alexander. In this song, she longs for the love of a partner now departed.
  • The Daily Telegraph February 9, 2010 asked Jones if she told Alexander that some of the songs on The Fall were about him. She nodded and replied laughing quietly and pulling a face: "It's a very heartfelt record. Some of the songs were painful. But Lee heard all the songs a long time ago. I mean, it's been a while. He was cool with it."
