Songfacts®:

  • Nothing But Thieves is an English 5-piece rock band from Southend-on-Sea in Essex. Formed in 2012, the group consists of vocalist Conor Mason, guitarists Joe Langridge-Brown and Dominic Craik, bass player Philip Blake and drummer James Price.

This is a single from their eponymous debut longplayer, which entered the UK album chart at #7. The song picked up Hottest Record and Track Of The Day accolades on BBC Radio 1.
  • The song finds Conor Mason itching to feel something in an increasingly desensitised world. He told The Sun about the track: "I wanted to do something rocky and upbeat. That is what we grew up listening to and Joe wanted to put in more of a (Jeff) Buckley vibe."

"That riff and bridge we just jammed out and it's actually quite a simple song structurally and it came together quickly."
