Songfacts®:

  • This novelty song pays tribute to (and features guest vocals from) "Captain Lou" Albano, the professional wrestler. NRBQ were briefly managed by the late showman - remembered for his colorful Hawaiian shirts and outrageous facial hair - and in 1986, the band released a bizarre collaboration album with him titled Lou and the Q. NRBQ keyboardist, Terry Adams, told Discoveries magazine that Albano was a "genius": "Working with him was a highlight of our lives. He is a genius. Those were the days when wrestling was beautiful, you know?"
  • Albano was unlikely friends with Cyndi Lauper and frequently featured in her music videos, most notably "Girls Just Want To Have Fun," in which he plays Lauper's father.
