Songfacts®:

  • This was written by Liam Gallagher following his infamous hotel bar brawl with businessmen in Munich in 2002, in which the Oasis singer lost two front teeth. Gallagher told Q October 2008: "I wrote it about six months after it happened because everyone was going around saying, 'It was down to them (Oasis), they started it.' No, it f--king weren't. And it wasn't even the press. It was the police and even friends of mine that I thought would be on my side."
  • Guitarist Gem Archer told Q magazine: "Liam wanted it to sound like The Who with Ginger Baker on drums, playing while a fight was happening."
