Songfacts®:

  • (What's the Story) Morning Glory? contains two interludes, "The Swamp Song excepts 1 and 2," which both originated from a demo called "The Jam." After former The Jam frontman Paul Weller played on another track, "Champagne Supernova," Noel Gallagher decided they'd better change the title. "It's just a jam, really... It was originally called, inspiringly, The Jam," he explained. "But once Paul Weller played on it, we thought we'd better change it, cos it might sound like we were taking the piss. You know: 'Paul Weller plays The Jam.'"
