  • The song's music video was directed by Nathan Cox (Linkin Park, Chevelle). The clip offers a peek into a present day small town set in an alternate post-apocalyptic reality. Clean vocalist/bassist Aaron Pauley said: "Nathan and his staff did an incredible job with the imagery and location, and created a believable setting in an abandoned mining town north of L.A."

"Despite chipping my tooth on that pesky vintage microphone, I had a blast, and it was awesome getting to hang with some of our fans," he added, "which can be seen in the video's ending performances parts."

Vocalist Austin Carlile recalled to Kerrang!:"We shot the video out in the California desert. It's basically an old ghost town that we were allowed to go into. I have to really scream when we're shooting videos – I can't fake it – and after four takes in a house that was basically an oven, I felt like I was going crazy!"
  • The song was released as the second single from Restoring Force. Speaking to UMusicians about the album title, guitarist Phil Manansala stated: "The whole album is about restoring the equilibrium of rock music. We have developed our sound to a new level and want to display it. We have heavy influences from '90s bands such as Linkin Park and Korn and there hasn't exactly been music like that around lately, so the album is really about restoring rock music and the force that it has."
  • Austin Carlile explained the song's lyrical content to Kerrang!: "'Would You Still Be There' is coming from a place of desperation and trying to do anything that you can to either make an impact on a certain person or get them back in your life," he said. "It's about putting yourself through so much to find the one thing in them, or in yourself, that is going to bring it back."
