  • Like many Icelanders, guitarist Ragnar Thorhallsson and vocalist-lyricist Nanna Hilmarsdottir of Of Monsters And Men are fascinated with the idea of storytelling, and many of their songs are fantastic fables of lions and other animals. "I like animals, and I think they're more fun than human beings," Thorhallsson told Spinner. "They're just very fun to write about. There's something simple about it. When we write the lyrics, we're often thinking about the human being as an animal. The raw animal instinct of a human being. It's like, how bad can people be?"
  • "King and Lionheart" is from the first Of Monsters and Men album, My Head Is An Animal. The album was released in Iceland in September 2011 and then issued internationally about seven months later when their song "Little Talks" found a global audience.
