Songfacts®:

  • This bittersweet song was penned by Of Monsters And Men for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack. The Icelandic band drew on their feelings of displacement while on tour when penning the song. "We had been traveling for a long time and away from our family and doing something we had never done before, so that was kind of how we related to the story, band member Ragnar Thorhallsson told MTV News. "So this is all based on our experience."
  • Rather than choosing to write about any specific scene in the film, the band chose to concentrate on the overall feeling of the second installment in the series. "I think that's stronger than digging into and dissecting the book and writing a song about one scene or something," Thorhallsson said. "It's more about the feeling of the whole story."
  • The song was recorded in a single 22-hour session at Blackbird Studio in Nashville during Of Monsters and Men's spring and summer 2013 US Tour.
