Songfacts®:

  • The Oh Wonder duo of Anthony West and Josephine Vander Gucht penned this song minutes after they'd heard that Josephine's brother had broken up with his girlfriend. They recalled to The Line Of Best Fit:

"We ran down to the studio and wrote this song as a way of comforting him – and indeed for anyone that has gone through something difficult. After ten minutes we ran back in to show him what we had written for him, and it was a deeply moving moment for us all."
  • The song was sampled by American rapper Lil Uzi Vert for his 2017 track "The Way Life Goes."
