Songfacts®:

  • This is a track from Chicago rock band OK Go's third album, Of the Blue Colour of the Sky. Lead singer Damian Kulash explained to Buzznet that in this song he tells "the woman I love that I will wait for her forever."
  • OK Go have earned considerable fame for their creative but often low-budget music videos and this clip upholds their tradition. It is comprised entirely of photographs, 15 still shots for every second of video. And toast… lots of toast, on which are projected images of forests and creatures playing instruments. In an interview with the art and design blog The Fox Is Black, animation director Geoff McFetridge said the toasty video was compiled quickly. "I got a call from Damian about the video about a month ago. I had 2 weeks to do the bulk of the animation and then a week for revisions. So that was really fast. I animated the entire thing with 3 animators working in Flash. We then output it as frames/files. They used those frames to burn the final toasted work."
  • The video features 2,430 pieces of toast made from stale bread, which amounts to 15 still shots of toast per second of video. The clip quickly garnered a million hits and climbed to more than 4 million by 2017. >>>
