  • Murs penned this song with Wayne Hector, who has also written hits for the likes of Westlife and JLS. He explained the song's meaning to HMV.com: "I've had time to reflect on my life over the last nine months and what I've been doing and it's never going to get better than this," he said. "It's an easy title. We wrote a song called 'Never Been Better', which all about being positive and not letting people drag you down. I'm feeling great, I've never been better, I don't want bad things to happen to me. I don't think my life is going to get any better than this."
  • Murs told Digital Spy why he titled the album after this song. "It felt more like it summed up where I was right now in my life," he said. "Not saying that this album has Never Been Better, go get it - like arrogant - it was nothing like that. It was Never Been Better as in my life's never going to get as good as it is right now, and I had eight months to look back on the last five years and go, 'Wow, look what I've done and what I've been able to do and what I've achieved."
