Songfacts®:

  • This sweet and innocent first date tale is a track from British singer-songwriter Olly Murs' third album, Right Place, Right Time. Writing sessions for the record began in March 2012, and Murs' intention was to bring more of a funk-based Maroon 5 feel to his music. "I don't want to do the same style on every album," he said. "I'd always said I want to do a Motown album, but after a couple of songs I'll go 'Let's change it up.'" This fizzing cut is one of several cuts on the album that fulfilled his initial brief.
  • This was written by Ed Drewett, with whom Murs wrote "Dear Darlin'." The other two writers were John Ryan and Julian Bunetta who have co-penned many of One Direction's hits including "Best Song Ever" and "Story of My Life." Murs told Glamour magazine: "This is a song that was sent to me by my record company, it sounds very 'me' and the lyrics are very lighthearted and fun."
