• This uptempo track was the first song released by One Direction following the departure of member Zayn Malik in March 2015. It was written by Jamie Scott, John Ryan and Julian Bunetta, the songwriters behind many of the guys' hits including "Story of My Life," "Midnight Memories," "You & I" and "Night Changes."
• The song received its first play on radio on July 31, 2015 and topped the iTunes chart in 82 countries on the day of its of release.
• One Direction performed the song live for the first time on July 31, 2015 at their concert in Indianapolis.
• During some lighthearted banter with Dave Berry and Lisa Snowdon on the Capital Breakfast Show, Louis Tomlinson denied that the song was about being 'dragged down' by Zayn Malik. "Are you trying to look for some kind of controversial answer here? You're not getting it. The song is not about that, obviously," the 1D member said.
  
  Louis added that the tune is about "just saying no-one can drag you down, you'll be alright, don't worry - as long as we're with each other that's alright."
• So what does Zayn Malik think of the song? The former 1D member took to Twitter after the song's release and said: "Proud of my boys the new single is sick."
• One Direction gave the first televised performance of the new track on Good Morning America on August 4, 2015 in front of an exited crowd in New York's Central Park.
• The song broke a Spotify record for streams in a single day when it was played 4.75 million times globally on July 31, 2015. It broke the milestone previously set by Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again," which was streamed 4.26 million times on April 17, 2015.
  
  The song's "day one" milestone was usurped by Ed Sheeran when his "Shape Of You" single accumulated 6.86 million streams in its first 24 hours.
• The song's music video was directed by Ben and Gabe Turner. The duo also filmed the promo for 1D's "Steal My Girl" as well as producing the 2011 TV movie One Direction: A Year in the Making. The clip was filmed at NASA's Johnson Space Center, Houston. We see each of the guys show they are made of the "right stuff" as they prepare to go up into space in different parts of the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility, where astronauts train.
• One Direction aren't the first music act to portray astronauts in a video. Other clips featuring artists in space include:

  "Back to the Shack" by Weezer (The video finds Weezer rocking on the moon without any apparent need for oxygen).
• This was One Direction's first #1 in Australia. Their previous best ranking Down Under was the #2 peak for "Live While We're Young" in October 2012.
• The 1D quartet weren't initially sure about the song. "It was something with the way it was produced," Liam Payne admitted in a Vevo video. "It was too different which we were scared of."
  
  "I think that song was a grower, it grows on you quite a lot," he continued. "After we sang on it and made it our own with different drum sounds and a couple of different things, it was exactly the right way to go. It's a nice introduction with everything going on, especially with the aftermath that's gone on this last year."
• One Direction took a day off their headlining 2015 Honda Civic Tour to film a commercial for the All-New 2016 Honda Civic. The ad shows the guys testing out the car's stereo, style and trunk space all soundtracked by this song.
• The music clip won the fan-voted Best Video prize at the 2016 BRIT Awards.
