Songfacts®:

  • "Rompe La Dompe" is a collaboration between Mexican singer Oscar Maydon and fellow Mexican artists Peso Pluma and Junior H. The song is a party anthem that celebrates the lavish lifestyle of the singers, who enjoy drinking, dancing, and flirting with women.
  • The title of the song, "Rompe La Dompe," is a play on words that combines the Spanish verb "romper" (to break) with the name of a popular brand of champagne, "Dom Pérignon" ("Dom P").

    Rompe la Dom P
Ya va a llegar la María, tráete a todas tus amigas

    Translates into English as:
    Break the Dom P
Maria is about to arrive, bring all your friends

Peso Pluma and Junior H used a similar lyric on their wealth-based braggadocio collaboration with Gabito Ballesteros, "Lady Gaga."

Dom Pérignon, Lady Gaga, lentes en la cara

    Translates as:
Don Perignon Lady Gaga, glasses on the face
  • Alexis Fierro, a Mexican singer-songwriter known professionally as "El Chachito," wrote "Rompe La Dompe." He also penned "Lady Gaga" with Gabito Ballesteros.
  • El Chachito first teased the pre-chorus on his official TikTok account on September 24, 2023. Two months later, on November 11th, Chachito took to his platform again with the news that "Rompe La Dompe" would find its home on Óscar Maydon's second album, DISTORSIÓN, with Junior H and a surprise artist.

However, when the album was released on December 22, 2023, it was nowhere to be seen. Instead, it was released as a single on December 28, 2023 with the addition of Peso Pluma.
