  • I'm on the menu, you won't get indigestion
    I even come with dessert
I'm not your poison, you won't need medication
    Your insides won't even hurt

In 2001, German computer repair technician Armin Meiwes placed an ad on "The Cannibal Cafe" (a defunct forum for people with a cannibalism fetish) for a "young, well-built man who wanted to be eaten."

A Berlin engineer, Bernd Brandes, answered the advertisement in March 2001. The two met on the evening of March 9, 2001 and Meiwes stabbed Brandes in the neck with a large kitchen knife. The cannibal then chopped his victim into pieces and put several bits of him in his freezer under pizza boxes. Over the next 10 months he devoured the corpse.

Police arrested Meiwes in December 2002 after investigators searched his home and found body parts. They also discovered a videotape of the killing during which Brandes had made clear of his consent to being eaten.

When Ozzy Osbourne read the gruesome story, he found it humorous, especially given the healthy Los Angeles eating habits. "You can't find a f---ing restaurant that's not vegan anymore," he told The Sun. "Everyone has gone vegan-mad here."

Inspired, Ozzy penned this gritty track with his regular Ordinary Man collaborators: Producer Andrew Watt, songwriter Ali Tamposi, Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.
  • The song opens with some bluesy harmonica played by Ozzy.
