Songfacts®:

  • In October 2023, Paloma Faith separated from her partner of 10 years and father of her children, French artist Leyman Lahcine. The breakup inspired her sixth album, The Glorification of Sadness, with the song "Enjoy Yourself" a powerful anthem about resilience and overcoming challenges.
  • With a blend of defiance and hope, Faith implores listeners to "enjoy yourself" despite life's hardships.

"It's like the beginning signs of an attempt at trying to see light at the end of the tunnel," Faith told Apple Music. "When you initially experience grief, it's constant. Then, there become moments where the gap gets wider and wider and wider. You have moments where you can see this idea of potential or optimism or hope. It is basically saying you've got no other option unless you wallow in self-pity forever."
  • Faith wrote "Enjoy Yourself" with Talay Riley and Ed Thomas.

A British R&B singer-songwriter of Nigerian heritage, Talay Riley's resumé also includes tracks by the likes of Nick Jonas ("Levels"), Jessie J ("Who's Laughing Now") and Khalid ("Young, Dumb and Broke"). She also sings the backing vocals on this song.

London-based songwriter/producer Ed Thomas has also worked with Chase & Status ("Blk & Blu") and Jorja Smith ("Let Me Down").
  • Swedish-born, LA-based producer Martin Wave helmed "Enjoy Yourself." After collaborating on a different track for The Glorification of Sadness, Faith was drawn to Wave's cinematic style, leading him to become a key contributor to the album.
  • Paloma Faith joined forces with Comic Relief for a special edition of "Enjoy Yourself" to support the charity's 2024 Red Nose Day campaign. For every CD purchase of Enjoy Yourself (The Red Nose Day Edition) on Amazon.co.uk, at least £3 will be donated to Comic Relief. For each vinyl purchase, at least £6.50 will be donated.

Amazon also contributed a portion of the proceeds from every streamed play of the song on Amazon Music in the UK for a month from February 21, 2024.
