Songfacts®:

  • This is a track from Time For Annihilation: On The Record & On The Road, the seventh studio and first live album by Californian rock band Papa Roach. This song is one of five entirely new tracks included on the record.
  • Frontman Jacoby Shaddix recorded his vocal for this track with a lot of emotion and attitude. He told FMQB about the song: "It comes from a perspective of somebody who just got screwed over. I've been screwed over plenty in my life. It's about the frustration of it. Just watching this person go about life, always screwing people over, and just making it out okay and everything goes alright for them. Sometimes you just want to watch karma come and bite them in the ass. In the end, what goes around comes around."
  • Shaddix told Rock AAA that this song is a one-fingered salute to their former record label, Geffen/Interscope, with whom the band had a major falling out. Said the frontman: "There's a lot of two-faced s--t in this business. Geffen/Interscope pissed me off – it was a really bad ending with them.

They released a greatest hits record against our will. We told them we didn't want to do it because we were at completely the wrong point in our career. They owe us a good chunk of money and they don't want to give it to us. We're like, 'F--k you, we're done.'"

We know that Papa Roach have no intention of acting out the song literally. However, let us hope the Geffen/Interscope offices don't accidentally catch fire over the next few years, otherwise Shaddix might regret the song's lyrics when the police come calling!
