Songfacts®:

  • Lead singer Jacoby Shaddix, formerly known as Coby Dick, wrote this song about his turbulent relationship with his wife, Kelly. He found it very difficult to handle both his family and his band, which was taking its toll on his marriage.
  • This was first recorded two years before it was released. The band was going to use it on their first album, Infest, but decided to leave it off because it didn't fit in with the other songs.
  • This was included on Papa Roach's demo that got them a record deal with Dreamworks.
  • This was the first single from the group's second album. The second single, "Time And Time Again," is also about Shaddix' marriage, but is written from his wife's point of view.
  • The album was produced by Brendan O'Brien, who has done a lot of work with Pearl Jam.
