Songfacts®:

  • Paris Hilton teams with Megan Thee Stallion on "BBA," which stands for "Bad Bitch Academy." Paris and Megan are the professors of this academy, where they teach the art of being a bold, self-confident woman who gets noticed (a bad bitch). A key tenet of their teachings is putting sisters before misters. It's OK to flirt with guys and let them buy you drinks, but don't go home with any creeps - better to get your sleep so you can do it again with your girls the next night.
  • The song is part of Paris Hilton's second album, Infinite Icon, released as the third single. She worked with some high-powered women on the album, including Rina Sawayama on the lead single, "I'm Free," and Meghan Trainor on the next single, "Chasin'." Sia was the executive producer.
  • Hilton says Megan Thee Stallion is "the ultimate bad bitch," telling Entertainment Weekly: "Any time I listen to her music, I just feel empowered."
  • The music video was directed by Hannah Lux Davis, one of the most prolific and respected lenswomen in the game. Her other work includes "7 Rings" by Ariana Grande and "Say So" by Doja Cat. The video features Paris Hilton as the headmistress of Bad Bitch Academy, guiding students through various "lessons" in confidence and empowerment.

Meghan Trainor, Heidi Klum and Lance Bass all appear in the video, which start with a news story where reporters are at the scene of a club that's "not hot." Paris Hilton, of course, knows how to heat things up - her catchphrase is "that's hot." Megan Thee Stallion doesn't appear in the video, which is understandable - she's a busy girl. She hosted the MTV Video Music Awards a week after the song was released.
  • Paris Hilton's trailer caught fire while the music video was being shot. Hilton wasn't in it, and the crew didn't tell her about it for a while to keep her from getting stressed out. Lance Bass and Heidi Klum were nearby when it happened, but no one was hurt.
  • A team of three producers combined on this one: Jesse Shatkin, Myles Avery and Alex Frankel. They're credited as writers on the track along with Megan Thee Stallion and the singers Lily Hormel and Deza. Hilton isn't credited as a writer.
  • Paris Hilton was really famous in the '00s, when she starred in the reality show The Simple Life and released her debut album, Paris. She was a tabloid fixture, jeered by many as she played the part of an entitled heiress (to the Hilton Hotel chain). She laid (relatively) low in the 2010s, but made her way back into music on New Year's Eve, 2022, when she sang her debut single, "Stars Are Blind," on Miley Cyrus' TV special. Sia was also on the show and convinced Hilton to make another album, which ended up being Infinite Icon. Around this time, Hilton also worked on a sequel to The Simple Life, again teaming with Nicole Richie.
