  • "Nothing In This World" was written and produced by Dr. Luke, who used a then-unknown Kesha as a backup singer on the track. This was early in the collaboration between Dr. Luke and Kesha, who was stylizing her name Ke$ha back then. Three years later, she released her first single, "TiK ToK," which was produced by Luke and put her on the map as a solo artist.

Dr. Luke worked on Kesha's first two albums; she later filed a lawsuit against him, alleging various forms of abuse. He countersued for defamation, and in 2023 they reached a settlement.
  • "Nothing In This World" was Paris Hilton's first single, released on her debut album, Paris. At the time, she was starring in the reality series The Simple Life, where she and Nicole Richie would travel to working-class parts of the country in fish-out-of-the-water adventures. She built a persona as an entitled socialite, and she was indeed a scion of the family that owns Hilton hotels. When she released her first single, "Stars Are Blind," knives were out, but even her detractors agrees that it wasn't terrible. The song was a #1 Dance hit, as was her next single, "Turn It Up." Even though she was now established as a singer, she put music to the side to focus on her show and on other ventures. She didn't release another album until 2024, when she returned with Infinite Icon.
  • The music video, directed by Scott Speer, follows a high school kid who gets bullied. The plot is based on the 2004 movie The Girl Next Door, starring Elisha Cuthbert, who makes a cameo in the video.
