Songfacts®:

  • "Just The Way" is a high-energy song about loving your partner for their true selves. It encourages the unconditional acceptance of their quirks and imperfections, as God never makes mistakes with His creations.
  • Labelmate Blanco Brown joins Parmalee's lead singer Matt Thomas on the single. The quartet and the country trap singer have known each other for a long time and had many co-writing sessions together.

"Hearing 'Just the Way,' we knew it was a special song," said Thomas. "As a band, we just needed that fifth element to help us deliver the message. We've been friends with Blanco for a few years now and have been waiting on the right song to collaborate on. Not only is he a great singer but he's all about purpose, positivity and meaning. For us, it was a no-brainer to get him on this song."
  • Matt Thomas wrote the bubbly pop-country song with Kevin Bard (Dan + Shay's "How Not To") and Nolan Sipe (Andy Grammer's "Honey, I'm Good," Jake Owen's "Senorita").
  • Parmalee and Blanco Brown debuted the song on December 1, 2019 when they shared the stage during halftime of Sunday Night Football. The band released it on December 13, 2019 as the first single from their seventh studio album.
  • The uplifting music video reflects the song's empowering sentiment by shining a spotlight on different types of women showing they are all special in their own way. The clip inspired fans to create their own mini films to the tune on TikTok and other social media platforms.
