Songfacts®:

  • Peace's first new music since their 2015 second album Happy People is a soul-searching track released to raise awareness of mental health charity MQ's 'We Swear' campaign. The crusade aims to raise awareness of the need for more research into the mental wellbeing of children and teenagers.
  • Frontman Harry Koisser explained how he wrote the song during a battle with his own mental health earlier in 2017.

"I wrote the song during my most difficult spring in a long time", he said. "Peace have always been an explosion of happiness, but that isn't reflective of every part of me or anyone for that matter, and this song, at its most zoomed out, demonstrates that polarity; you can still be a happy person and take a pasting from your demons".

Koisser added: "Although this song is deeply personal, it's really for everyone as most people have had, come into contact with, or will have some degree of mental health issue in their lives. I'm pleased Peace are supporting MQ and their goal of transformating mental health through research."
