Songfacts®:

  • This three-chord stomp was inspired by singer Harry Koisser's search for love. "This song is about the colours of the heart that live under the cool pastels and monochrome chequers," Koisser explained. "It's about the bright primary stubbornness and unsophisticated optimism that won't stop squirming toward true love. It's a 100% real life true human emotional time capsule being unearthed for me. It was something I was desperate to say to somebody but obviously didn't have the courage."
  • The song's music video was shot in one take and pays tribute to the tent scene in Wes Anderson's 2001 movie The Royal Tenenbaums. Harry Koisser said of the clip:

"This is a classy and expensive video for a deep and meaningful song. If that is wrong then I don't wanna be right. It reminds me that outside of the grit, spit and uglier bits, there is still some good left in this world. Pure ecstatic natural love is out there waiting for you to illegally download it. This really is a sandwich for the eyes."
