Songfacts®:

  • PTX vocal percussionist Kevin Olusola describes "Take Me Home" as a Boyz II Men-meets-Toto song: "I was thinking, oh how do you write a song that kind of combines both of what they do?" He brought the idea to Kirsten Maldonado, the group's soprano, and with the help of singer-songwriter Audra Mae. "We just wanted it to be five-part harmony, really simple; just an easy melody that people could understand," he explains.
  • In the album's track-by-track commentary, Maldonado explains the song's meaning: "In the first verse, it's talking about the people individually, how they work together, and then it's... how we belong together and our heartbeats are what are special, as opposed to just like mine or yours. And so, I don't know what we were talking about; we were just like tearing up just thinking about it and we were like this could apply to so many things like if someone's sick or someone's gone and [you're] not with them, and we were just like: 'Oh, my goodness, this is going to be special.'"

  • Lisa from Santa Fe, New Mexico, UsaWhat an extraordinary song with beautiful harmonies. I am doing a tribute to my aunt, who passed during covid. I had bought the album/cd and it will be the background with photographs. I was so moved by it; what a beautiful piece of work. By the way I love Toto and Boyz II Men. So, it should be no surprise how much I love this. Thank you my talented musicians.
