Songfacts®:

  • Peso Pluma originally released this slowed-down sierreño track in June 2021. It finds him remembering a relationship that has ended and the pain that comes with it.
  • "Por Los Noches" translates to "At Night." In the nighttime, Peso Pluma recalls the smell of his ex's perfume, the white sheets where she hid inside, her long legs and big eyes.
  • Sierreño is a type of music that originated in the northern region of Mexico, particularly in the states of Sinaloa and Chihuahua. It is a sub-genre of regional Mexican music, characterized by three instruments: the guitarra sexta (a 12-string guitar), the bajo sexto (a 12-string bass guitar), and the tuba (a brass instrument). Sierreño music often has romantic lyrics and can be slow and melodic or more upbeat and danceable. The lyrics are usually sung in Spanish and often tell stories of love, heartbreak, and life in rural Mexico.
  • Peso Pluma was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, but he didn't have an artistic family to show him the ropes. That didn't stop him from getting inspired by legends like the late sierreño icon Ariel Camacho. At just 15, he taught himself to play guitar by watching videos on YouTube and writing his own songs.

Pluma's ability to write corridos about the ups and downs of life while also showing his vulnerable side caught the attention of Argentine rapper and singer Nicki Nicole. She jumped in a remix of "Por Los Noches," which he released on February 27, 2023.
