Songfacts®:

  • This was the closing track from Phil Collins' fifth solo album, Both Sides. He told The Mail on Sunday about it: "This song, like a lot of my songs, wrote itself. I remember playing the chords then singing whatever came into my head. I only ever played I once, and this is it!"
  • Phil Collins recalled to Mojo magazine in 2015 how he came up with the song. "I've forgotten how I wrote it," he said. "I just played. I set up a microphone in my house and sang and what I sang is what you hear. That's jazz to me."
