Songfacts®:

  • Nottingham producer Philip George recorded this deep house track in his bedroom. It came to the attention of Radio 1 DJ's Greg James and Fearne Cotton who started championing the song. The success of the cut caught the attention of dance label 3 Beat, who released it on December 26, 2014. It immediately debuted at #2 on the UK singles chart.
  • The song is based around a sped up sample of Stevie Wonder's vocals from his hit single "My Cherie Amour." The Motown legend loved what the UK producer did and personally authorized his label to grant a licence for his voice to be used on the tune.
  • This spent three weeks at #2 on the UK singles chart behind Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk" without ever topping the tally. It was the longest running single to stall at the runners up spot since Bruno Mars' "Locked Out of Heaven" spent three (non-consecutive) weeks at #2 during the end of 2012. Coincidentally, that song was co-produced by Mark Ronson.
