Songfacts®:

  • This was selected as the Official Mascot Song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and was played before each game during the month long tournament. It featured on the album Listen Up! The Official 2010 FIFA World Cup Album, whose profits were donated to the Official Campaign of the 2010 FIFA World Cup "20 Centres for 2010." The charity's aim is to build twenty Football for Hope centres for public health, education and football across Africa, and other African charities.
  • As well as Cuban/American rapper Pitbull, the song features local South African group TKZee and UK artist/producer Dario G. For the song, the trio created a blend of European dance mixed with Latin soul and African groove to signify the unification of culture across the global event.
  • Ptibull said in a press release: "I am excited to be part of a global event and humbled that 'Game On' will be heard around the world. The FIFA World Cup is seen every where but knowing that proceeds from my song will give back to African charities is the biggest gift."
