Songfacts®:

  • This tender piano ballad is a duet between Pink and country star Chris Stapleton. It finds the pair contemplating the limits of love.

Is it for better or for worse, or am I just your good time girl?
Can you still hold me when it hurts, or would you walk away?
Even if I scandalize you, cut you down and criticize you
Tell a million lies about you, what would you say

Pink is questioning Stapleton's commitment to their romance.
  • Pink co-wrote "Love Me Anyway" with the Nashville songwriters Allen Shamblin and Tom Douglas. Chris Stapleton did not contribute towards the songwriting. Shamblin and Douglas also collaborated on Miranda Lambert's "The House That Built Me."
  • This is not Pink's first foray into country music: She had a #1 Country hit back in October/November 2016 with "Setting the World on Fire," a duet with Kenny Chesney.
  • One of Chris Stapleton's previous excursions into the world of pop music is "Say Something," a collaboration with Justin Timberlake from the pop superstar's Man of the Woods album.
  • Pink and Stapleton sang this at the 2019 CMA Awards. This wasn't Pink's first appearance at the ceremony; two years previously, the pop superstar was nominated for "Setting the World on Fire." She performed her Beautiful Trauma track "Barbies" at that ceremony.
