  Austin Post first became interested in music as a teenager, teaching himself how to play saxophone and then becoming a member of his high school's heavy metal band. He began learning how to produce music through FL Studio and when he was 16 years old, he started working on his first mixtape. After leaving college, Austin created his stage name Post Malone and continued working hard on his music. The rapper achieved mainstream fame with the release of his hit, "White Iverson," in February of 2015, but didn't rest on his laurels, and has continued to produce hit sings. Malone celebrates his success on this song, crediting it to his hard work.
• The track features guest vocals from Quavo, who contributes the second verse. Quavo and his group Migos, first formed in 2009, but didn't really achieve any success until the release of their 2013 single "Versace." They had to wait another three and a half years until they broke through to a mainstream audience with their huge hit "Bad and Boujee." During his rhymes, Migos talks about how he was patient during those lean years and toasts his success now ("Pot so big, call it Super Bowl").
• The music video was directed by James DeFina, whose other credits include Becky G's "Becky From the Block." The clip basically follows the concept of the song as the two artists turn up with bottles and confetti. Plenty of champagne is popped, and lots of people are celebrating their success. They include the song's producers Metro Boomin and Frank Dukes, plus the two other members of the Migos crew.
• Co-producer and engineer Louis Bell recalled the genesis of the track to Billboard:
  
  "Recording that song was one of those experiences where everything came together. Metro Boomin' was FaceTiming with Quavo and Post was like, 'Hey, come through.' He was there in a half hour and there was an energy in the room. Post went in and started singing a freestyle, came out and had maybe eight minutes worth of melodies. The 'Congratulations' hook was part of the freestyle."
