Songfacts®:

  • The song title stands for "More Famous Than Rich," and we hear Pusha T sending shots at rappers and others that are masquerading as being from the streets when they are acting like celebrities. The G.O.O.D music president discussed the meaning behind the track during a studio session with Apple Music: "Y'all niggas rather be more famous than rich! I ain't never lived my life tryna be famous," he said. "At all. I don't give a f--k about that s--t. We tryna get this mother f---in' money and stack these coins."
  • Pusha expanded on the inspiration behind the song title to Billboard magazine: "I'm from a time, an era and a lifestyle where you can't really speak on it without really having it," he said. "To be more famous than rich seems to be a thing that's going on right now and I'm not into that."
  • The song features The-Dream crooning the hook. Other collaborations between the pair include Pusha's 2013 My Name Is My Name track "40 Acres" and The-Dream's 2012 single "Dope Bitch."
