Songfacts®:

  • In 2016 Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme produced and co-wrote Iggy Pop's Post Pop Depression album. The record also featured the band's guitarist Dean Fertita. This eerie funk rocker is a leftover from those sessions. Homme told Mojo:

"We just felt we had enough songs (done) in enough time, it didn't ever get fully formed. In fact, Iggy wrote the lyrics, 'feet don't fail me now'. So I said, 'Is it cool that I use that song and take that lyric?' He was like, 'Go for Broke.'"
  • This is the opening track of Villains and is one of several songs on the album intended to get the listener up on their feet. Homme told The Sun: "We want you to dance. We like taking people's hands and being swept away."
