Songfacts®:

  • This was the first official single from R&B musician R Kelly's ninth studio album, Untitled.
  • Roy "Royalty" Hamilton and RiffRaph produced the song. Hamilton is an African-American Pop and R&B songwriter, record producer, and musician, whose résumé includes Joe's Hot 100 #1 "Stutter," Keith Sweat's 2002 album Rebirth and Keri Hilson's track "Can You Do It."
  • The song features R&B/Hip Hop singer songwriter Keri Hilson, who also co-wrote the track along with Kelly and Hamilton.
  • The album was originally going to be called 12 Play: Fourth Quarter. Kelly told MTV News why he eventually went for the title of, er, Untitled: "I've been in the biz 17 years, so everyone is used to me naming my records, so I wanted to mix it up a little. I want whoever listens to the record to call it what they want, name it themselves based on what they feel listening to the music."
  • This became Kelly's 35th Top 10 single on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, surpassing Nat King Cole's record of Top10 singles on that tally.
