Songfacts®:

  • This song about falling in and out of love was penned by the Country singer-songwriter Katrina Elam, Pistol Annies member Ashley Monroe, and Nashville superstar Carrie Underwood. Asked by CMT News why Underwood didn't keep it for herself, Holder replied: "I have no idea why Carrie didn't release it. It's so good."

Holder added. "I first heard Katrina's version. Then I heard Carrie's demo with just her vocal and a guitar. I think that version must've been from their songwriting session. And I knew there was really something there. But I didn't know for sure that Carrie had actually written it until after I'd recorded mine. So when I was singing it, I put my own spin on it. Even though the song has a Carrie feel to it, I was thinking about my own path and my own problems with guys."
  • Rachel Holder had this song in her back pocket for several years before recording it for her debut album with Curb Records. "I'm just excited to have the song in my hand," she told Billboard magazine. "I actually had put the song aside a few years ago, and came back to it. After I re-listened to it, I asked myself why did I put the song aside in the first place?"
