Songfacts®:

  • This was first recorded by the band in 1991 for a demo tape by their managers Bryce Edge and Chris Hufford.
  • This track was indebted to American alternative rock band Dinosaur Jr. The producers Sean Slade and Paul Q Kolderie struggled to better the original version, which was ironic as Slade and Kolderie had previously produced Dinosaur Jr. Kolderie recalled to Q magazine: "We could never get it at the right speed. I wanted it to be faster and everyone else wanted it to be slower, and we went back and forth. I had high hopes for that one and I don't think it panned out that well." Eventually they settled for the original demo version.
