Songfacts®:

  • Rightly described by Ritchie Blackmore biographer Jerry Bloom as "a glorious instrumental", this track takes its title from the name the lead guitarist gave his Long Island house, where he was living in 1979. "Weiss Heim" - the German for "White Home" - was recorded at Sweet Silence Studios, Copenhagen and released as the B-Side of "All Night Long"; it took a couple of hours to write; keyboard player Don Airey said it was developed from a tune Ritchie had.
  • Running to 5 minutes 17 seconds, "Weiss Heim" is included on the 2002 compilation album All Night Long: An Introduction. >>>
