Songfacts®:

  • Randy Houser married Australian-born Tatiana Starzynski in 2016. He wrote this song with Kylie Sackley and Rob Hatch about their lovestruck early days together.

    Ooh, something about you
    Something about me
    Something about us
We didn't know that we could fall this hard

Houser explained to The Boot: "From my standpoint, it was written about the relationship I had with my wife, and those good relationships - all the things that are said, and the warnings, all those things that come along in the beginning of a relationship. And the fact is, you know, that no one listens. Everybody goes through that process themselves. That's what "Our Hearts" is about: "This is private. This is our show."
  • "Our Hearts" is a duet with British-born singer-songwriter Lucie Silvas, though it didn't start out that way. Houser explained that he decided, "it just felt better with a female harmony on it."
