Songfacts®:

  • "Real Love" reunites Katharine McPhee and Elliott Yamin, who came second and third respectively in the fifth season of American Idol. Randy Jackson, a judge on the show, explained to Reality Rocks why he featured the two Idol finalists on this song: "If you're really talented, you can sing anything. That was my whole thing with Elliott and Katharine. People say, 'Why'd you choose those two Idols for the album?' Well, the thing with those two is, people really need to know how good they are. Those two can really sing, dude. They can blow. They came in the studio and just blew this song out in an hour, it was crazy. I was like, 'Oh my gosh! You shoulda sung like that on the show!'"
